What are your findings and conclusions?

Overall, I found out there are different interpretations of the spirit of Leadership.

In one of the interviews, he claims of not using it at all but likewise thinks that it was the obligation to do good(social contract) that binds him to lead to the best of his ability. Trust and actual proof of governance is its manifestation

Influencing, motivating, and leading by example is another finding that is present in the spirit of Leadership that is leading in front and managing people and risk.

Mentoring is noted in the findings, which is interpreted as a commitment to another to develop and improve work and character by working together for a common purpose

Ethics and morality as compass attribute to the spirit of Leadership to one interviewee.

I conclude that with the above findings, the spirit of Leadership should be present in every organization to perform well and contribute to its purpose.

- how a leader understands the importance of his subordinates as a person

- spirit is manifested in a leader when he exploits the strengths and manages the weakness of his subordinates.

- The Principles of Leadership is actually the spirit

- They have the patience to demonstrate before delegating the task and, most of the time studies the strengths and weakness of every person

- Leading to the front, Leadership by example, and importantly exploiting  strength and managing their weakness is how I practiced spirit in Leadership

- it makes up Leadership, like influencing, mentoring, guiding, modeling, and so on

- The spirit of Leadership is very much alive in the country, may it be in the military or civilian organizations. Many Practice leadership not just to comply or gain promotion but by way of life

- I influence others to do our roles in our unit to contribute to the unit mission

- I also guide and mentor the younger generation of soldiers as they are the future of the AFP.

- I myself practice and try to improve my Leadership.

- Holiness and Leadership is the ability to influence and motivates others

- Combining the two words would mean doing the righteous way to influence and motivate others to do good all the time

- culture and values in every region of the archipelago can be good or bad and significantly affect the spirit of Leadership

-  leaders must be accepted first by their constituents

- Trust and actual proof of good governance must be present for the people to accept

- social contract to follow their leader.

- not spiritual but the capability of doing most good decisions and actions being a leader

- correspond to the ethics and morality of an individual as these attributes become the compass that guides him to be an exemplary leader

- at times subjugated to the culture of “pakikisama”, a leader compromises his ethics and morality to give way to the requests of the led

- a leader needs to consider factors that can broaden his influence over the led; compromise is one way to accomplish this

- ethics and morality has always been the compass, my default in trying times during leadership tenures. –

- experiences together with the ‘spirit’ of Leadership made me even better as a leader

How do they connect to your own personal experience?

My own experience as a leader of the spirit of Leadership points out that the environmental setup of the organization in how it performs and works well with every person in the organization spell that there is a spirit of Leadership. Otherwise, if it is in chaos or the organization does not have direction, it does not have the spirit of Leadership. But suppose the above findings like the activities of influencing, motivating, leading by example, ethics, managing people’s strengths and weaknesses, and even the so-called social contract or the obligation to do good is present, then, in that case, I am sure that I have the spirit of Leadership because I do all these.

Do you grasp and discern the spirit in your Leadership?

Describe it.

Leadership has a purpose, and that is what I think of the spirit of Leadership. There is no need for the spirit of Leadership without the purpose or the intention of what you want to be or where you want to go as an organization—the spirit of leadership fuels you to act with purpose and to think critically in solving problems. There is no point in leading when the leader himself do not know how to lead with purpose.
